This fundraising event for SLC6A1 provides a walking or running option for all ability levels. There is a 3K and 5K run/walk option along with a short kids fun run.  

Fun Run Start Time: 

9:10AM (0–5 year-old race and a 6-10 year-old race)

Race Introduction and a Message from Will & his Family: 9:20AM

3K/5K Start Time: 9:30AM

Race Check-In: 

8:30AM – 9:30AM at the north side shelter. Race shirts will be available for pick-up at this time.

By participating you are not only supporting William, but you are helping to fund research and a cure for all children fighting this rare disease.

Entry Fee: 

$25 per person and includes an event t-shirt.

*** Virtual Race Option is available, and the entry fee is $30

 3K/5K: 

The official route will be posted on the event Facebook group closer to the start of the event. 

Prizes for 5K age group winners (1st Place Male/1st Place Female) will be awarded to the following age groups:

• 17 and Under - 5K

• 18-29 – 5K

• 30-39 – 5K

• 40-49 – 5K

• 50+ - 5K

Virtual 3K & 5K: 

Virtual racers should plan to walk or run your own route during race week, August 20-27th.

• Share some photos of your walk or run on the A Way for Will 5K & Fun Run event page!

• Virtual racers will receive their race packet in the mail. Event staff will email you to confirm your mailing address.

• Virtual racers who would like to be in the running for a prize can self-report your race time here.

• We will include access to a special Spotify playlist specifically created for the A Way for Will race participants!

 Kids Fun Run/Walk: 

FREE for kids 12 and under. Participation in the Kid’s Fun Run does not include a race t-shirt, but additional shirts may be purchased through online registration. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come and cheer on the runners!
